Upon completion of the challenges required for this instructional unit, you will be able to:
- Comprehend the span of women’s healthcare and make recommendations for care relevant to the various milestones throughout a woman’s life.
- Identify women that are underserved and make informed decisions regarding how to best serve these women.
- Connect to the mindset of underserved women considering life challenges that contribute to their health status and their health seeeking behaviors.
- Utilize resources to improve the quality of life of underserved women patients and to assist with dailty dilemmas.
Challenge 1: Care of Underserved Women
Who are underserved women? How are there healthcare needs distinctive? What strategies can nurses implement to best serve the needs of underserved women. Review this elearning module to better understand your role as a nurse in working with women who are underserved.
To achieve this challenge, work through the elearning module, Care for Underserved Women, and provide answers to the following questions:
- Who are underserved women? How do you know a women is underserved?
- Describe the types of questions you might ask a women to determine if she may be underserved. When would you ask some of these questions?
- What is an ACE? Why are they relevant for caring for underserved women?
- Discuss strategies that you can keep in your nursing bag to assist you with the care of underserved women.
Challenge 2: Knowledge Check
In this challenge, you will answer a series of questions to demonstrate your understanding of the content acquired in the previous challenge. You must answer all questions correctly to achieve this challenge.
