  5. List reasons why the Native American population is at a higher risk for alcoholism.

Challenge 1: Escape the Impact of Historical Trauma

How can the impact of historical trauma be overcome? Work through this elearning module created in the style of an “escape room” to explore health concerns and the impact of historical trauma on the Native Indian population in greater detail. The module also offers intervention strategies that nurses can implement.

To achieve this challenge, work through the elearning module, Considerations in the Care of the American Indian, and provide answers to the following questions:

  2. Describe two steps a nurse can take to assist a patient with diabetes prevention.
  3. List three risk factors that are particular to the American Indian/Alaska Native People.
